WINTER SWIMMING DAY
The Acropolis Winter Swimmers 2025 event took place today at Finikoudes Beach, bringing energy and laughter to Larnaca’s shoreline and awakening it from its winter slumber.
Organized by Acropolis Cleaners, the event gathered dozens of winter swimmers—both seasoned enthusiasts and first-timers—who warmed up with exercise and dance before taking the plunge into the chilly waters.
The program continued with laughter therapy on the beach, an insightful presentation on the numerous health and wellness benefits of winter swimming, and a rich Cypriot breakfast, followed by hot soup to warm up attendees.
Larnaca’s Mayor, Andreas Vyras, addressed the event, expressing his full support for the initiative.
The director of Acropolis Cleaners, Andreas Heracleous, stated: “Winter swimming offers tremendous benefits for both physical health and mental well-being. In Cyprus, we are fortunate to have a beautiful sea and mild temperatures that allow us to enjoy it year-round. However, winter swimming is not yet a widespread tradition here. This event aims to change that. We invite everyone to embrace it, make it an annual institution, and we are confident that, year after year, the number of winter swimmers will continue to grow.”
The event was actively supported by Alfa Radio, which broadcasted live with the charismatic Marinos Konsolos, as well as the Finikoudes and Larnaca Winter Swimmers Associations, the Larnaca Nautical Club, 86seven Gym, Zumba instructors Estelia Kyrou & Marie Liz, and the wellness center Tree of Life.
The Acropolis Winter Swimmers 2025 event was also sponsored with products and services by the Municipality of Larnaca and companies including Matad Advertising, Olympus Dairy Industry, Ttiniozos Deli Meats, Party Guide Event Equipment & More, and PrintStudio Design & Printing Services.
